Searching for a Dallas hotel with a large dog is easier when you eliminate restrictive properties before comparing rooms. Two useful starting points are Virgin Hotels Dallas and Kimpton Pittman: both publish policies that welcome dogs without a size-based surcharge or weight cap. Their day-to-day rules still deserve a careful read.

Virgin Hotels Dallas: no size or breed restrictions
The Dallas hotel’s pet page says pets stay free and lists no size or breed restrictions. It describes dog beds, food and water dishes and other pet amenities. Ask what will be provided for your room and whether a suitable bed is available for your dog’s size.
The same page asks guests to leash pets in public spaces and says not to leave them unattended in the room for more than 30 minutes at a time. That is a meaningful constraint if your Dallas plans include a long dinner, a concert or hours away from the hotel. Owners remain responsible for damage.
Kimpton Pittman Hotel: no published weight limit
The official IHG amenities page welcomes pets without extra charge based on size, weight or breed. It explicitly lists no weight limit and describes pet beds, dishes and treats. Its Deep Ellum setting is relevant if that is the area you plan to visit.
Do not translate a generous weight policy into unlimited freedom in the building. Confirm the permitted pet count for your room, unattended-pet requirements, housekeeping arrangements and the practical walking route from your assigned entrance.
How to choose between them
Begin with where you need to be and how your dog handles unfamiliar environments. A dog comfortable with city sidewalks may need something different from a dog that requires a quiet relief area and minimal hallway contact. Check the map, ask about the immediate outdoor environment and look at the path from the room to the exit.
If leaving your dog in the room is essential, resolve that question first. Virgin’s published 30-minute unattended limit may not suit your itinerary. Ask Pittman for its current written rule rather than assuming it offers a longer allowance.
Does a large-dog policy cover two large dogs?
Not automatically. A size rule and a count rule are separate. Tell the hotel both dogs’ individual weights, breeds if requested, and whether they will share one room. Request a clear answer covering both animals. If a booking form offers a pet-friendly filter but no place to enter those details, contact the hotel before committing.
Budget beyond the pet charge
No standard pet fee does not remove parking, taxes, ordinary room charges or responsibility for damage. Compare the complete total and the cancellation deadline at the same point in your booking process. Choose a refundable option when possible if the pet arrangements are still unresolved.
Bring a familiar mat, bowls, cleanup supplies and any crate the hotel requires. Ask about room dimensions if your dog needs a large crate: a no-weight-limit policy does not guarantee that every room layout will accommodate your equipment comfortably.

“I am considering [dates] in [room type] with [number] dogs weighing [weights]. Please confirm that all dogs are accepted, the complete pet charge, unattended-pet rules and the nearest permitted relief area. Can you add this approval to the reservation?”
